I'm a computer-science graduate student who likes the parts of a system that only show up under load, failure, and review.

Most of what I build is backend: transactional storage, consensus, ledgers, schedulers, and the tooling around them. I tend to learn a system by breaking it, forcing retries, races, and partial outages until the behavior is explicit enough to trust. I'd rather ship a smaller system I can prove is correct than a larger one I can only hope is.

That instinct is why several of these projects were written from scratch rather than assembled from libraries: implementing Raft, two-phase commit, or an idempotent ledger yourself is the only way I've found to really understand the failure modes. It's also pulled me into open source, where I've landed merged changes in iii-hq/iii and pull requests to OpenSearch, Kubernetes, FastAPI, and Dapr.

Right now I'm most curious about correctness under partial failure, consensus, idempotency, delayed feedback, and the evidence that lets you trust a system after it has already broken once.
